[art school update]

First year = complete!! ^_^

It's honestly very exciting...I can't believe that it's over already. Within a couple months, I'll be moving back up to the city to start a whole new year...but for now I'm trying to concentrate on what I like to do. Portrait work...some more abstract painting.

I've almost got all my work from the last year posted. I believe that only one piece is missing now. Just got done adding some sketchbook pieces in my Scraps section.

Trying to get my work shown at a local show. And a possibility to be shown in a gallery nearby has recently opened up to me as well. I think I'll wait a while for that though; maybe next year.

Oh! And I've also been commissioned for three more tattoo designs this summer.

Exciting times. <3

RYC- Thanks. No, sadly, I havent been taking any art classes recently. Just playing around with it...using books. I don;t really have the time to take any art classes since it is my senior year of college. Gasp. Decisions...decisions. Time to grow up.

I ended up using sharpies. Skinny and thick ones. Other than a tiny screw up on the hair..I think they turned out okay. Now to add color to them. I usually botch my drawings the moment I try and add any sort of color to them. I thought about using pen...but I don't know. I <3 sharpies...I'm a sharpie whore.

well, you could always trace/scan/copy your drawings first. that way you could practice inking before you do it on the original piece. or you could practice inking regular objects first, shapes and what not. were you planning on using pen (cross hatching and such) or markers?

Thanks for the comments. I know...I'm pretty shocked too. I swear a year ago if you had ask me to draw anything...well, it'd look like a blob. I couldn't even draw decent stick figures...
Amazing what an art class can do for you.

Do you think I should try inking those pictures? I've never done it before...and I'll be sad if it fucks up the whole picture. Any tips?
